HONG KONG ADVENTIST HOSPITAL, Hong Kong
1971
7-storey general hospital with a distinctive circular plan, the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital has been a landmark on Stubbs Road since its completion in 1971. Among the first private hospitals in Hong Kong, it is located in a predominantly residential area with a steep sloping terrain. The circular form fits neatly into the natural surroundings articulated by a screen of vertical architectural fins that unifies the design of the external facade.
After 45 years of service with numerous alterations and refurbishments, the building still serves as the core of one of the most prestigious private hospitals in the City, a testament to the robustness of the original design.
