Lam Wo Hei is one of the 4 founding directors of Wong & Ouyang (HK) Ltd and has been with the Wong & Ouyang Group of Practices for close to 50 years. As the Principal Consultant, he oversees and provides strategic direction in terms of design and execution of projects in the office. He has wide and extensive experience in different building types, including residential developments, office projects, mixed-use retail-office-hotel developments, educational and hospital projects as well as institutional developments.
Mr. Lam’s experiences in Office Buildings include the International Commerce Centre (ICC); the One Taikoo Place and the office campus in TaiKoo Place, Pacific Place One, Two and Three. His extensive experience in designing Hotels include the Ritz-Carlton (ICC & Galaxy Macau), the Upper House, W Hotel, Langham Place Hotel, Island Shangri-La, Conrad, J W Marriotts, Kowloon Hotel, Kowloon Shangri-La, hotels and casinos in Macau and Vietnam.
His experience in Mixed-Use Commercial Development started with Pacific Place, other projects include the Master Planning of the Kwun Tong Town Centre for URA, Langham Place, Times Square, Gateway / Harbour City development, HKRI Taikoo Hui (Shanghai) and Hangzhou Kerry Centre. Mr Lam worked on a number of large scale Residential Communities including the Master Planning of Lohas Park for MTRC, Phase 3,4,5 of Cyberport, Whampoa Garden, City Garden & Shatin City One. Recent Residential Projects include the Austin, Mount Nicholson, the Cullinan and the Sorrento (Kowloon Station).
His experience on Large Scale Institutional Buildings include the Phase II of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, hosting the 1997 Handover Ceremony and the subsequent Atrium Extension; the Sheung Shui Slaughterhouse for the Hong Kong Government; and NTT Communications Hong Kong Financial Data Centre. His work on Health Care Projects include the Caritas Medical Centre Expansion; the Main Clinical Block & Trauma Centre of Prince of Wales Hospital and Pok Oi Hospital. Mr Lam was deeply involved with the Master Planning of the Hong Kong University’s Main Campus and the development of the Centennial Campus, as well as the development of the new campus for Hang Seng University.
Mr. Lam is a Fellow HKIA, Fellow RAIA, RIBA member, Registered Architect HK and AP. He has sat on many Government committees including LBAC. He was a former Vice President of HKIA, former Chairman Architects Registered Board, former member of Construction Industry Council and HKGBC. He is appointed a JP in 1999 and was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star in 2004.
