Medical Complex Extension at 21 Sassoon Road

Wong & Ouyang was commissioned to be the Lead Architectural Consultant for the Medical Complex Extension at 21 Sassoon Road, after winning the design competition by the Faculty of Medicine, HKU. The extension features a world-class academic conference hall which houses more than 200 persons. Respecting the constraints of the existing building, the Team comes up with an innovative light-weight construction design so that no additional piling is required although 3 additional storeys are put on top of the existing structure, resulting in a significant savings for the project. This project was completed in 2021.
